Transforming post-consumer plastics into flip-top caps

RE Plano, ExxonMobil Corporation and Kutterer Mauer AG announced their cooperation for the production of high-quality flip-top caps at the K Show 2019 in Düsseldorf.

These flip-top closures are manufactured on the basis of RE Plano's PP product PLANOPROP® which is made from post-consumer recycling streams (PCR). 

RE Plano and ExxonMobil collaborated to produce a high quality PCR compound, and the caps were produced using Kutterer Mauer AG molding expertise. The improvement of mechanical properties of the flip-top cap was enabled by using Vistamaxx™ performance polymers. Vistamaxx™ has primarily impact through strength improvement for applications that require tighter drop tests (drop height and deflection angle) and living hinges.
